The graph below demonstrates the relative rate of improvement of Eidsvold State School students compared to the relative rate of improvement of all Queensland State School students, from 2012 to 2014, in reading, across all classes.
Sustaining this rate of improvement has been achieved though embedded, evidenced based strategies and programs such as THRASS, the whole school reading program and Explicit
Teaching of key content and skill sets by teachers.
I congratulate my staff for their great work in teaching reading across all curriculum areas and continuing the implementation of these successful strategies and programs.
A continued and constant focus on reading, spelling, writing and grammar and punctuation across all curriculum areas is currently being implemented. Our Focus areas from 2014—2016 are writing, and grammar and punctuation.
Parents are encouraged to join us in the education improvement journey and contribute their great school community by, helping your child/ren to get their homework and assignments completed and in on time, joining a reading group, attending forums, Meet and Greets and parade. We also welcome your ideas about how you would like to be involved in our school.
