Next Tuesday 20th March, the Eidsvold SS annual Cross Country will be held. This is a whole school event and all students are expected to attend. Students will be marked in Form class and then walk down to the Golf Club with class teachers. Students can wear house-coloured clothing (Flinders – red and white, Leichhardt – green and gold) to school for the day, however, it must be appropriate. Students must also wear appropriate footwear as it is expected that all students will compete in their age level event, unless a special circumstance inhibits them from doing this. If this is the case, a note must be sent to school with the student and handed to the school office by 8:50 am.
Students will be having morning tea at the golf course, so please ensure appropriate food and drink is packed. All students must bring a water bottle as well.
At the conclusion of all events, students will walk back to school for lunch, and normal classes will be held for the remainder of the day.
Parents and carers are more than welcome to come to the Golf Club and enjoy the cross country events!

Mary Poppins - review from Hugh Reiser (Primary School Captain) |
|
On Wednesday the 7th of March almost all the students from Eidsvold State School and some from Abercorn State School went to Brisbane to see Mary Poppins at the QPAC Theatre.
It was a very early start to the day but no one was tired because we were all very excited. Despite it being a very long trip, we were able to stop twice to stretch our legs at morning tea and lunch.
When we got to Brisbane we went straight to the theatre to watch Mary Poppins. It was a magnificent performance that we all enjoyed. Especially enjoyable parts were when Burt, the chimney sweep, tap danced across the ceiling and when Mary Poppins floated above the audience.
On the way home we stopped and had a beautiful meal of pizza at Gympie. After tea it was back onto the bus and back to Eidsvold. On behalf of all students, I would particularly like to thank Ms. Murphy for organising this trip for us. I would also like to thank the other staff members and the bus drivers for their help.

Our weary 10/11/12’s returned Wednesday from their bush odyssey completing the first round of the practical component in the Certificate I in Rural Operations. All had a fantastic time and were complemented by the staff from Emerald Ag College on their behaviour. A big thankyou to Mrs Murphy and Mr Hall for attending with the students, and all the other staff and parents who assisted in getting this program off the ground.
